“Dear Parents and Players,
For the MLK weekend the team will not be playing in the Strongsville tournament. I decided not to play in Strongsville due to the competition and the schedule. We will how ever play in a tournament in Columbus,Ohio The 2019 Pioneer Classic Ice Hockey Tournament.  The tournament will start on Friday evening (1/18) and end on Sunday (1/20).  Most of the games will be played at the Chiller North arena with a few sprinkled in at the Chiller Dublin and Chiller Easton sites.  There are 14 varsity teams (Olentangy Orange, Newark, Olentangy, Mentor, Sylvania Southview, Talawanda, Dublin Scioto, Linsly School (WV), Athens, Springboro, North Royalton and the Shamrock Prep Team (MI)), Lake Catholic and Hudson. The cost of the tournament is $1325. The school will pick up the transportation and $25 per day will be provided per player for meals. Parents will be responsible for their hotel fees. Players will be split in to pairs for roping assignments. We don’t have a block yet and as soon as that information is available I will get it forwarded to you. The tournament does not have a deal with local hotels. Families wishing to travel and be with the team will be responsible for their hotel reservations. Players will not be allowed to stay with parents as this is a team event. Coaches and any other volunteers will be responsible for the players in the hotel. This opportunity came with great help from the Athletic Director. As more details become available I will make sure to keep you in the loop.
